How do i clean the air filter in my pt-50lc14 tv ?...

I have the same problem with my 50" panasonic PT-50LCX64 tv. I have a call into a technician to see if it is going to be a cost effective repair, I am very unhappy with their technical support. I also have removed the bace and cleaned everything back there and blew it out. Their techs. say it is an internal filter that has to be cleaned by a service center or dealer. They will not say where the filter is at so I can clean it myself.

Sorry to say the obvious but have you cleaned the air filter?

where is the air filter located in the tv

This works for mos Panasonics

Turn on Power
Pres and hold the "vol-" button on the front of unit and the "split" key on the remote together for over 5sec.

Screen should say " Lamp time was reset to 0"

the filters could be cleaned out with a shop vac and a rag, but if you need a new air filter...need to call panasonic

I had the same problem and the stupid tv would shut off after 1 minute. We opened the silver front panel , took the bulb out cleaned it, took the cover off the grey box to the right and very carefully vaccumed the filter and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. It works great now!!! Make sure you unplug your tv before messing with it.

I received a new blue polarizer unit from Panasonic. I installed it and it fixed my problem!!!

air filter message is ussally generated by a tempsensor getting hot. could indicat falulty sensor.. is the fan running. a stalled fan could cause the problem but usaally when that happens it completley shuts down
