I have connected my PS3 to the internet wirelessly before but I have recently moved into a new home. I consistently get the 8013013d Error code when trying to connect to the internet... But my room mate has a PS3 that connects with no issues. I tried using all his setting and I still got the same error code.

8013013D "A connection error has occurred" - May be to do with the SSID of the Router or signal strength if the conneciton drops Putting the PS3 into DMZ may help - otherwise check WPA key PS3 can't handle WPA2 only WPA or none

The DNS error on my PS3 from LINKSYS

your wireless network should be configured to NOT broadcast the SID and a WEP key. Then after entering the address of the router manually in the network setup on the PS3, you will able to obtain an ip address from the router

I have a PS3 120GB. Recently installed Hi-Def and wireless in home. The wireless router is not in same room with PS3. Is there a device I can add to the PS3 to enable the wireless features, or does it have...

there is already a built in wireless device for the internet. id say its not working because you need to put your I.P adress, subnet mask, router and DNS numbers into playstation. go to settings on ps3. then network settings. manually install all these numbers. you should be able to get them off your laptop or computer when its connected to the internet. if you cant ring your internet provider to grt them.

I need help hooking my PS3 wireless

Hi

You have not specified what kind of connection are you going to use to get online on your PS3, i am listing steps below first for a wireless connection in case you have a internet connection with a wireless router or modem.

Make sure that your wireless Internet is turned on and working properly,Turn on the Playstation 3 game console and follow these steps below

1) Access the "Network Settings" screen under the "Settings" screen in the main menu.

2) Select the "Internet Connection" tab and select "yes" when the system displays a new screen.

3) Select "easy" on the new screen that pops up asking what type of installation you want to use.

4) Select "wireless" when it asks you what type of Internet connection you have.

5) Select "scan" on the next screen so that the system searches for all available Internet connections in the area.

6) Select your home Internet when the screen pops up displaying the available Internet options.

7) Save your settings on the next screen.

8) Test the connection to make sure that it works properly, also you would need to enter the secure password if you have set it for your wireless modem our router for wifi access in order to connect it with your PS3.

Now for connecting your PS3 through a wired internet connection you can follow the instructions given at this link, this is with diagrams for you to understand better.

Let me know if this helps and please do not forget to rate my solution

Wish you Happy Holidays and Happy Gaming

Controllers not connecting when power is turned on

your connect might just be bad, try moving your ps3 to a different location, maybe a new tv, re-set the connection, your connection on your computers, or maybe your ps3 is just over heating.. which then you would have to send it in to sony =x good luck

Internet Connection

On the X-Cross Media Bar, (the menu that comes up when you turn on the PS3) under "settings", go to "Network Settings".
then go to "Internet Connection Settings". select "yes".
go to "custom", "Wireless", "Scan".
If your network is not listed, move your PS3 closer to the Wireless Access point.
Select your Network and enter your password (if it needs one).
select "automatic" for everything.
select "Test Connection".
the "Obtain IP Adress" and "Internet Connection" should say "Succeeded".
If not, contact your system or network administrator or a teacher that knows a lot about computers.

The PS3 has built in network capabilities, WIFI (wireless), for which you need a wireless router, or wired, where you need an ethernet cable and a router OR just a modem if you don't want anything else connected to the internet at the same time.

PS3 internet problem

Hi, best way to connect the PS3 is to buy a router, wireless or wired router. and if you go for a wired one, connect the ethernet cable (RJ45) from the PS3 to the Router,

Other option is plug ethernet cable into PS3 & other end into the Network card which will be built into the base unit, otherwise you can buy a ethernet card which should cost you about £10.
but you will need the PC switch on, whenever you want to use the PS3, as well as you will have to configure the network setting to get it working,,

Have a good new year
