Beep from computer

I got an HP notebook (HP Pavillion dv6000) back at the end of december. In about the past 2 or 3 weeks, it has started making this high pitched beep from time to time. It does not make this noise at start up. It's only when I have been using the computer after boot up (can be anywhere between 15 minutes and 3 hours after boot up.) It lets out one loud, high pitched beep lasting about 1 second. The beep is not coming from the speakers. It actually sounds like it is located towards the front left of the laptop. Sort of to the left of the track pad for the mouse. Since I did not experience this for the first few months I had it, and I also know two other people with HP pavillion dv6000 laptops that do not experience this issue, I want to check if it is a problem.

Beeps indicates that a HW problem was found, but ussually you hear them at start when your notebook is already damaged. Go to HP official site and find out what those beeps mean (each of them will indicate a specific problem)

My HP DV6000 had a gfx card failure and I had similar beeps when starting with blank screen. They had to replace my motherboard to fix it.

I have the exact same problem! Did you found a solution? It would do the same kind of beep after being booted up, sometimes 15 minutes like you said or even after a day! Thanks!

My lap is also dv6000 and i have no symptoms like that.
it seems some thing is going wrong inside. As your lap is under warranty you should contact your service centre, it will be free.

Thanks
Iqbal

My computer always makes beeps sounds when i boot it up

Hi Daniel,

every computer has certain beep codes that indicate problems during the boot process. These codes are different from each manufacturer. You didn't mention which computer you are having, so I can't send you a solution. The best way is to search i.e. "HP beep codes" or "Dell9150 beep codes".

Let me know if you have any question.
Good luck!

4 beeps on my Hp pavillion dv6000, blank screen

No Screen on Pavilion DV2000T
I had this problem before. Tere is a good chance this may work.
First of all remove the ram memory.

-remove battery pack and wait 10 mins
-now start charging laptop without battery pack for 2 mins
-unplUg the power AND press and hold the power button for 45 seconds
-REPLUG THE POWER CABLE BUT DONT PUT THE BATTERY PACK YET

NOW OPEN THE LID WIDER YOU CAN PRESS POWER BUTTON YOU WILL SEE YOUR SYSTEM WILL START. ONCE YOUR SYSTEM IS READY SHUT IT DOWN PUT THE RAM AND BATTERY PACK BACK AND CONTINUE TO USE YOUR LAPTOP.

It hope fully will work as if you get one or more beeps, the POST is completing alright.
Hope that helps.

Hp pavillion dv6000 wont boot, switching on all the lights and giving 3 beeps, what do i do

Three beeps ususal indicates a memory error.

If you have 2 ram modules in your system, remove one and try to start up. If this fails, replace the single stick with the other. If neither of them work and you still get the 3 beeps, it may be the motherboard that is damaged.

Laptop Beeps on start up 1 long and two short beeps

You've checked the memory board/card, but have you tried using another memory card? The 1 long followed by 2 short beeps indicates that there's a problem with the memory card. Try to remove the memory card, then wipe the gold traces with a dry cloth and put it back in.

If you try replacing the memory card but you get the same problem, then proceed with the video card.

Hp pavillion dv6000 - speakers buzzing after recording

First of all, check if the issue is with the Microphones of your Notebook.
Try disabling or turning off the Microphone of the Notebook to check this.
Additionally, try reinstalling the Audio Drivers of the notebook if possible by checking the Notebook driver page.
