I have a Motorola razor phone. The phone was on and the screen was black but the buttons were still lit up blue. I turned off the phone and now the buttons are still lit up blue even when the phone is closed.

You can try to follow the steps provided in our Motorola Website to see if this will resolve the problem with the device: Clear Cache Partition on my device

Check this link; http://www.mobileplanet.com/ft.aspx?k=48401 There are a few possible solutions discussed; Dry it out (in a warm cupboard or similar, not in the sun or on a heater). Replace the keyboard membrane. check the keyboard connectors to the rest of the phone - the power button has a seperate connector, so could well be the case. If there is still a warranty on the phone, then take it back as opening it up will void the warranty. Hope this helps - please ask again if you need more help :)

Black as in won't display anything? I'm not sure how old your phone is but, if there is no display at all, it sounds like the connection between the display and the actual phone has either broken or come loose. I would at least take it somewhere to have it looked at because it could have just come lose or possibly be another problem all together. However, if it the connection is broken (and I hate to be the bearer of bad news) there isn't really anything you can do to fix it.

I also dropped my phone but it was fine for two days, than my phone had just shut off and when I tried to turn it back on I could hear it but my screen stayed black. I reformatted twice and it came back on. To reformat press and hold *, 3 and the green button. I had to do this twice before it work! Hope this will help you too!

the easiest thing tpo do here is take it to a professional but if you want to try updating your software off the Motorola website. (this require a data cable or bluetooth in your computer) This fixes a lot of software problems with the razor. If this doesn't work then you will have to reflash your Firmware which is like the Windows Xp of the phone. This does require a professional as it can destroy the phone
