Im getting a black screen on my webcam while using yahoo messenger 10.is there any way to fix it?.i'm using window vista by the way. Thanks for your help

Purchase a webcam. Install drivers. Go to my webcam link in your yahoo messenger. open your friends im. Invite him to view your webcam. Ask his webcam to be viewed by you.
Try a portable version of Yahoo messenger, or there are a few other solutions.
You could try to use Trillian.( www.oldversions.com you can get it from here) or you can acces www.meebo.com . You can connect on several types of IM.
they may not be using yahoo IM if this is the case... VERY FEW people use this messenger, I certainly have not for years. I currently use pidgin and adium which do not have webcam capibility but do allow filetransfer, encryption and also allow communication on msn/aim/gmail and many other protocols as well as yahooIM.
Download Yahoo Messenger (www.yahoo.com) . Create a free ID on yahoo as ask the other person to do the same. Install Yahoo Messenger and Login using your ID and start IM conversation. You will get a webcam button on the IM (instant Messenger) window . Click on that and the other person will see you and vice versa. This is just one way, there are other messengers too and gmail too offers video conversation in its mail. So enjoy
Philips Webcam SPC110NC doesnt work with Yahoo Messenger as advertised. Packaging says it works with MSN/Yahoo/AIM, but when troubleshooting Yahoo IM using AMCAP.EXE (as per the Yahoo webcam help site), it shows color space/compression used by this product is MJPG and this is the only option. Yahoo IM only supports RGB 24, I420, or IYUV.
