SOURCE: When I press the Schlage button the door automatically unlocks.

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstallationTroubleshooting.aspx#5 Why can my electronic keypad deadbolt (BE365) be unlocked without a four digit user code when I press the "Schlage" button? This is most likely due to an installation error. When the lock is assembled on the door, two steps of the installation must be followed to insure proper operation. The deadbolt must be installed in the door edge with the bolt retracted, and the gray plastic cam on the interior mounting plate, through which the flat metal driver bar passes, must be pointed down (see below). The gray plastic cam has a triangle embossed on the end opposite the driver bar which should align with a matching triangle on the orange plastic cover plate below. These instructions are also embossed on the orange plastic plate.
Troubleshooting Image 2
If the cam is improperly aligned, the lock must be disassembled to a point where, with the bolt retracted, the cam can be turned to the correct position without moving the bolt. This will require withdrawing the flat driver bar completely from the cam before turning the cam. The driver bar will then pass through the cam at a forty-five degree angle when the lock is reassembled.

SOURCE: My schlage door knob lock tumbler stopped working

if the cylinder in the lock is not turning anymore when you put the key in -- then there could be a stuck pin inside the cylinder. use a teflon or silicone based lubrication and spray into the key hole and cycle the key in and out a few times and then spray some more lube in and cycle the key some more,, spray one more time and let it sit for awhile --- after sitting for awhile, try the key again.
if it still wont turn the cylinder then it needs to be rebuilt,, take the lock down to your local locksmith shop and have them rebuild the cylinder to the key you want. the cost of this is only about 8.00 to 10 dollars ( depending on where you live ) and it only takes about 5 minutes.
now there is also a chance that the lock might have another issue going on here --- if you remove the knob from the door and with it in your hand, try the key and see if it turns left and right,, if it does turn then the problem is not the cylinder but the thumb turn part of the lock jamming up,, you can also take the parts to the lock shop and get a replacemnet pretty cheap.
one more thing to check is to make sure the lock is not to tight on the door -- and what I mean by this is that on some hollow doors they get squished in to the point where the lock/unlock part of the lock drives into the thumb turn part and it has way to much pressure on it. again - if you remove the lock from the door it should all be pretty clear what is the problem here.

Schlage Smart Lock - deadbolt unlocks then immediately locks after code is entered. Barely enough time to open door.

The battery pack may be weak. They are set to stay locked as opposed to stay unlocked in case of battery failure.

Not being able to use the key is an issue in its own right. You would need a locksmith to solve that one.

Schlage Electronic Lock. Unlock the door from the outside without the code or key?

Strange that an internal door has one of those!

No, you will need a locksmith or some way to get in the room another way (window, cut a hole in drywall). Or you spring the door jambs apart and slip the lock. Sometimes you can remove the hinge pins. Or drill the key lock out with a Carbide Drill. It is a $95 lock.

Our schlage lock with thumbturn on inside and keyed on outside. When unlock inside, knob turns freely as if it is really unlocked but if I close door, I get locked out. Please help

Be sure the outside knob is unlocked before closing the door.
Schlage locks do not lock the inside knob or lever. After releasing the turn button, also turn the inside lever or knob, then check the outside knob.
What model of lock is this?

Door will unlock without entering code

"Does my Schlage BE365-CAM BE365CAM505 have a feature that allows it to automatically lock the deadbolt without having to enter code and turn the dial? "
Sort of. The lock has what is called the "turnlock" feature. When enabled, you have to only push the Schlage button, then manually turn the dial. When disabled, you have to enter the user code, then turn the dial.

To enable/disable this feature, enter your Programming Code--press the Schlage button--Press 7.

Each time you do this, you toggle between enabled and disabled.
