You can reset the transfer roller counter under the menu for the printer. To do this:

1. Press menu.
2. Push the right arrow twice to get to "Engine"
3. Verify Engine is the option displayed and press select/enter.
4. Scroll through the menu until you see "Engine Service". Press select.
5. Scroll to "Reset Counter Transfer Roller". Press select.

After pressing Select on step 5 it appears to run a calibration (at least it did on mine.) But the message should be gone after that. The counter for the transfer belt is also here. Please be sure not to reset the wrong one.

I hope I've done a good job answering your question. If you have any additional questions I will do my best to answer them. If my answer was helpful for you I'd appreciate a 5 thumbs up rating, or a click on the yes this was helpful button. Thank you!

What does trans roller low mean

The transfer roller is near the end of life; you need to prepare a new transfer roller. The printer will tell you when by changing the message to trans. roller end. The directions start on page 76 of the user's guide. http://printer.konicaminolta.com/support/current_printers/mc5440dl_sup.htm for the PDF You'll need to reset the counter as well when you insert the new roller. Other consumables may also be nearing the end of life (like the transfer unit itself). The manual has details for checking their status. Get the appropriate parts from the company (or a third-party vendor).

I hope this helps.

SERVICE CALL 14 XFER ROLLER Have installed new transfer belt. Still had error message. Came here and read tips. Cleaned the sensor both in the printer and on the transfer belt; reinstalled. Still...

the transfer roller is a foam roller that transfers the toner onto the paper. It will be visible with toner removed, a little wider than a piece of paper, and about the thickness of a roll of quarters. I don't know how to physically remove it on your model, but transfer roller issues in general can be remedied by removing the transfer roller and wrapping it in packing tape until the tape comes off clean.
While you're in there, vacuum everything out for good measure; but never, ever use canned air on a laser printer.

Magicolor 5440dl manual feed jams paper as it feeds into printer. paper gets about half way. paper is not smashed or crinkled.

If the paper was damaged we can presume that there is a blockage, however your jam sounds like the paper is not in the expected position at the expected time (ie a sensor is not reporting that a peice of paper has reached it) so this can be cased by

1. rollers slipping on the paper from
a/ slippy media - try a different paper (even as a test)
b/Build up of paper dust on the rollers- If you can see the roller, power off and wipe with cloth
c/ Roller ware - If you can see the roller and have a mild abreahisive like wire woll If you can see the roller and give the rollers a rub

2. Sensor failure-Try Powering off then unplug wait 2 minutes and then power back up, this will reinitilise a sensor

I'm assuming these are Black lines?
1-check the fuser, the part where it exits and gets HOT,
the rollers must be shiny and clean, if the coating is starting to wear off it retains some toner on it causing lines or copy quality issues.
