We have a sharp r-9h84b convection microwave and the carosel has stopped working when the tray is in place. Any thoughts the carrosel seems to rotate very slowly when there is nothing on it.

It's almost certainly a bad turntable motor.

The part number was RMOTDA079WRE0 but it is listed as no longer available.

In some cases, older microwaves are available locally at repair shops or on Craig's List.

If you want to keep your eyes open, this same motor was used in the following Sharp models:

R9A20
R9A50
R9H11
R9H60
R9H66
R9H71

Good luck.

All the controls work and seems to be working with tray rotating but makes noise and does not cook

Having noise means some obstruction near the rotating tray or its motor need some lubricant. Has for no cook but control seems working, the magnetron and its fuses is the culprit because it doesn't anymore produce heat to cook food.
I hope that advice help you.

R9H84B Sharp Microwave Convection from 6-6-1997, power stopped and turntable stopped. Light works and sounds like the power is working but nothing gets hot.

Is this the unit with the door that swings down like a conventional oven?? I think it is. This sounds like a door switch but could be a magnetron or cook relay on the control PCB.

Popcorn

According to the owner's manual (which you can download free from us here),

1. Place the bag of popcorn over an upside-down 9" glass (or paper) plate.

2. Touch POPCORN pad.

It will cook and stop automatically.

If this does not work, you may have a bad humidity sensor or control board, etc. and parts for this model are generally no longer available.

Convection not working

This almost certainly a bad thermistor. It may be open due to corrosion, or its resistance has dropped due to caked grease and / or carbon deposits.

The part number is FH-HZA041WRE0 and the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

We actually have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

If your model is not R-930, please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.
