I have the same problem. My Belkin worked fine and one day for no reason it just started going wierd.I log on to the router and it says that internet is connected and nothing seems wrong with it at all. However it will only load certain sites such as google, Apple home page e.t.c. It will not upload others however, such as facebookmsn e.t.c. There is no relation between the sites it will and will not load they are just random. On some sites it will half open them then give up. There are alot more sites it will not let me on that it will let me on, its frustrating. The lights on the front of my modem all light up one by one as usual back when it did work, but once they are all lit up the phone line connection and web connection lights go out then slowly come back on again until the internet finally connects (with this problem). My xbox 360 wont connect to the internet either.
It comes up with this when I try to get on some websites. Proxy ErrorThe proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET (whatever site i want to get on to). Reason: Error reading from remote server
Please note I use a Mac not a PC. However I do have a PC that uses wireless to connect to the modem.

Please access your router default page and disable WPS(WIFI protected system) option. And then once your done disabling the above option, and if you still have any problems,
OR Try uninstalling messenger and reinstall it again or try using windows messenger the default one which windows provide and try using that and see if you can work on it with no hastle.
-that is stating that there is an issue between the gateway AKA your router and the internet.
-try restarting computer first, if that fails to give you an actively working connection. if that fails try the following and that should clear up any issues you may have unless the internet is down for whatever reason, unpayed bill etc...
-so if there is a modem and a router unplug all devices from each other and unplug the router and modems power cords. restart computer. after windows boots up plug in ethernet cords back appropriately (telephone looking cables) to each other. plug the power cord to modem first then the router's power cord and your internet should be restored.
THE MODEM HAS A BUILT IN FIREWALL TURN IT OFF ACCESS IT TIPE 192.168.0.1 INTO YOUR BOWER ON FIREFOX OR NORMAL INTERNET EXPLORER THEN UR USER ID IS ADMIN THEN PASSWORD IS MOTOROLA ONLY WORKS FROM YOUR MODEM ONLY AND INTERNET SERVICE ONLY
1-Log in to ur router by typing 192.168.2.1 in to address bar of ur internet explorer.
2-select "Virtual Servers" tab under firewall & select MSN Messenger option in the combo box on the top & apply.
make sure that is your default gateway. go to your command prompt and type in 'ipconfig'. Use your default gateway to access your configuration settings.
It is best to use the reset button on the router to start over. if it then connects you will have to reset all the passwords and setting you had previously.
Double check that the Default Gateway in TCP/IP properties is the routers LAN IP address (By default this is 192.168.1.1)
Without a gateway installed, there will be no Internet access.
After verifying this go to Start>Run and when the "Run" window appears type command into the "Open" Field, then click OK
Once the Command prompt appears type in:
ping 207.69.188.185.
If you don't get a reply, the gateway is not installed.
If there is a gateway already installed, check for any third party firewalls that may be installed on your computer. These can sometimes block Internet access.
For more information please see the related article on assigning a static IP address behind the router.
If still having problems, contact Linksys Technical Support.
