I have my tv using a direct tv system and remote. i went to turn on my tv to check if the direct tv signal was restore to my house. i turn the tv off and then tried to turn it back on to check something with the direct tv system and it would not turn back on. now all i get is a fast blinking red light at the power indicator for the tv set. i've check all power cord and assured that they are plugged in. neither the power button on the tv, the remote power button, or the power button on the direct tv remote will turn the tv on. any suggestion on what the problem might be.

top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and
work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole

Most likely the remote control uses an RF control signal rather than an IR signal. IR signals are directional; RF signals are not - they are range-based.
I understand the problem you have is the remote not controlling the TV?
If so, set the remote to TV and hit a button. it should ask you Manufacture and give a list of codes. If this does not work, go to Directv.com and look up how ton program remote. Directions should be there. Or just google the question.
Georgine you should have a button on your EMERSON remote that says input or source. Press that button and a menu should come up with a list of options use the arrow keys in the center of the remote to highlight VIDEO Press enter or the circle button in the very middle of the remote
hello Sofia. The only signal coming to your tv, ever since the country went to digital signals is coming through your direct TV. For that reason you must use the input from direct tv to make the tv work.
Regarding your question about old fashioned tubes, no, very few of the old fashioned tube tv's are still in use.
I hope I have answered your questioins and solved your problem. Regards, Joe.
Tries turn the Direct tv decoder box off/on button,or unplug and replug, so the software can run it upgrade.Take out the signal input as a HDMI or cable connect direct to the antena port in the tv. Check for wear and tear and reconnect, change all batteries in the remotes. That should get u up and running, not than u have electronics componnent defective somwhere.
your turning section is not responding to any input, hence needs to be checked by a technician. every thing you have mentioned are controlled by one ic, with its respective voltages.
take your tv and remote to a technician to check on your emitting diode and a photo senser, both are working but not very sensitive. the components are not gone but about to go. if you remove a senser from tv it can not receive, so that senser is sensing some thing, also check an amplifier just after a senser plse do that.
no, there is no fuse on the television that control the remote, there is a component that they call IF means infrared.its a circuit that recieved the signal from the remote, amplify them and convert them to signals then decoded by the system control.if the remote is not working with the two tv then the IF circuit needs to be repaired.since you say that the remote works with the direct tv box.then i could assume that the remote is working.it could also be that the remote is not compatible with the tvs.try getting the the right remotes for the tv and see what happens.if it does not turn the tv on then we safely say it is the IF circuit.then you will have to take your set to a repair tech for repairs.good luck.
