I have an RCA 52 inch rear projection tv. Model # HD52W59 The blue CRT is arching inside the tube and I get no picture on the TV at all. Is the blue CRT gone bad

You have 3 pico fuses by your fly-back transformer. One of them blew that controls your convergence circuit. Your TV now thinks that it is a Basic CRT set with 1 tube. Find the bad fuse and replace with a 1/2 amp pico fuse, and re-solder all the pins of your fly-back transformer. Your menu should have the convergence option again.

When you replace a flyback on an RCA Model, Always replace the Horizontal Output tranistor with it. These models are notorious for for bad solder connections in and around the HV area. Also check around the High Voltage Area for bad HV Scaning Capacitors. These are usually square shaped , for cracking,arching,and swelling. Replace if found to be defective. One more thing check the neck of the picture tubes for cracks or arching inside a tube when trying to turn the set on. Sometimes a bad scanning cap will go defective and drive the high voltage so high it cracks the Green CRT.

Replace Blue Tube and re-align - Big job and expensive Tube cost min $300 + installation. You can see the tube arching internally?

probably you have glycol leaking on the anode lead, in one off the pic tube, check for wets spots, or pay attention on the chassi where the hv leads are located, be careful

tv worked great, turned it off one day and back on the next and the on light would not come on nor would the tv work, rear projection 52 inch rca

Blue Crt arching... on the board or on crt? most likely if it is arching you are right in suspecting the tube. These tube are around 240 dollars per tube and then i would sugest replaceing crt board. I work on alot of these at the shop. bottom line if there not under warenty then really not worth fixing. these set cost about 800 new it would cost around 500 to fix. crt replacement of these set is a very involved process. I think almost ever screw in the set has to come out and then after you get it all back together. theres the alignement issues.. im not saying dont do it just if you like a challenge go for it.

This unit is a crt rear projection tv and does not have a bulb or lamp. this unit has a red, blue and green crt. The only service manual for this unit is provided by RCA on cd or dvd.

Possible arching crt. which one red blue or green. HIgh voltage problem could be simple connection ... could be tube.. replacement of crts in these units are generally expensive to say.around 400 for parts and labor
