New Voice Mail flashing light

I'm having the same problem, just since I got new voicemail and long distance service. I've been able to solve the problem in the past by leaving myself a message from another phone and then deleting the message. That doesn't work now. This is my problem too, with a GE 900MHz cordless phone. The voicemail light keeps flashing on the base after I have deleted the voicemail message that started it flashing. No matter what I do, it keeps flashing -- and then, maybe 15 minutes later, it stops flashing and shines steadily. I do not know what (if anything) I pressed or did to get it to stop flashing.

I have the GE phone 28112EE3-A, and having the same problem. When I first bought the phones in April of 08 they were returned & I received new phones which worked without any problem until June 08 when I reconnected the phone to my internet phone system (Vonage) GE can't fix the problem but under the warranty I'm entitled to new phones because it is a problem with the phones.
