GE Front Loader washer is leaking intermitantly. It seems as thought it is coming from the bottom of the rubber ring just inside the door. When I remove the cover (where the drain cap is) there is water all inside this area. I think we are going to have to get it serviced, so any help would be great! Thanks Sarah

Hi, Open the door, and with a flashlight carefully inspect the rubber boot between door and tub pulling it back. You are looking for a cut or tear at the bottom of the boot. Hope this helps.
Hello, this is usually the door seal, most machine incorporate a one piece combined door seal and outer drum seal(often just called a DOOR GASKET), the door seal are put in on the front panel first in the factory, then the drum assembly is put in and the seal pushed over the outer drum. This means a lot of stripping down has to be done just to replace the drum to the door seal. Thanks
Scrub the glass on your door and the rubber boot. This works in almost every case. The washer gets a build up of scum on these parts and doesn,t allow a tight seal. In rare instances you have to replace the rubber boot. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.
Is it coming from the front? You can take the bottom panel off and look inside. If the middle is not wet, it may be from a torn door gasket. Pull back the rubber seal on the machine (not the door) and you may see a big tear. That's what happened to ours. We ordered a new one on ebay and we are installing it now.
If your washer has a rubber seal around the inside of the door and it has a little opening where the detergent comes into the washer put your hand inside the rubber piece and feel all the way around and see if you feel any holes or cracks in it and that is where it will leak from.
