What exactly do you mean by "they look like they have sun burn". Can I have an image so that I can help you access the service menu and also which setting has to be adjusted.
Sai.
Woah that looks like excessive red tint and blotches. The tint can be adjusted from the convergence menu but I am not sure about the blotches as it looks like you got a faulty color wheel. A buddy of mine has loaned my service manual, I have to get it back to give you the instructions. ETA 6 hours. Hope you don't mind?
. SOrry for the delay. I got it back. Turn off the tv using the remote. Press the buttons Mute-1-8-2 in quick succession, one after the other. You will see the service menu. Select the convergence option. You will see 3 cross hairs Red, Blue and green. Since you have excessive purple, Start by adjusting the red crosshair, align it with the green(green is fixed and hence an ideal reference of the center). See if blue is out alignment to(since purple= red+blue) and align it with the others. That should fix the colors problem. I gotta say it looked pretty funny -she almost looks like a clown :D
I sure did and I have already posted my reply. Checkout my last post.
Yeah I was about say it that you gotta fire it up.
Thats weird! Look for the shop mode setting. Find it and turn it off. Then exit the service menu and start the tv normally . Factory settings should be restored. See if that helps. Otherwise see if you can find the convergence option in Menu-> Setup. I will go through the service manual in the mean while.

I have found a PDF version of the service manual in my collection. DO you see the option CCA(on). In that adjust the default value. It is the column starting with 640 in the image below.
Makesure you notedown the current values before changing anything.
what about the hue? Also did you note down the previous values like I told you to?
And I hope you only adjusted red? Can I have an image so that I can suggest further adjustments?
Yes and do not change anything other than red-x. I say again leave out red-y and red-Y. Change as necessary if the service manual values do not do the trick.
Sai.
Ok. The watch out for the blur. Red-Y is the the equivalent of z-axis so that may be causing the blur. Change red-y and see if it does the trick.
Yes Like I said it sounds like a faulty color wheel. I am sure you did not have these blotches before?
It is unlikely that its a smudge. Even if it were it wouldn't be so prominent. Can you get me an image so that I can see what it looks like now?

I am having a hard time getting a picture taken of the TV screen that shows what I am seeing. At times it looks normal, then I see red shadows and blotchy faces. The colors are off.

Can you see this?
I am back. Do you have the service manual?
Mute 1-8-2 does not seem to be opening the service menu?
Mute 1-8-2 Power just did it
I am not seeing an option for "Convergence"? Any options I am supposed to go to first?
not seeing a "shop mode" either?
I was able to make the changes, seems a little worse now? More of a ghost effect
Not sure I really notice a change in the hue. Less Red? I did write down the original settings.
I changed all the settings for all the colors. Should I go back and just have the Red colors changed?
Red-x was the only one that was set the value called out (640) and was the only I did not change.
The colors seem good, just the splotchey red on the faces like a rash and pink in the blue sky. I wonder if it is something else?
never had them before. I did take the bulb from the lamp out and put it back in. I was wearing rubber gloves. Could this be from a smudge?
Getting late here, I am going to call it a night. here is a pic
