My inside temp didn't register this a.m.the other features were fine. I had to go outside to see if the outside receptor was working . It was. What do I do to get it to work inside again?

the printer scanner will still work if you have a considerable amount of inks in your ink cartridge. the printer scanner will not work if one of your inks is out.... this is caused by a sensor which puts the printer on safemode. unfortunately there is no way for us to bypass this function without tearing it down. epson made this feature for you to keep on purchasing inks for you to use their brand.

It may be a bad contact between the cartridges chip and the contacts inside the printer.
They can be cleaned very gently inside, by using a cotton bud, and suitable cleaning fluid, such as either foam spray cleaner, or a professional product like SERVICOL.
You will only need a tiny amount to clean off the contacts if that is the problem. they sometimes just get fussy when a small amount of ink residue, or dust, gets in the way.
If the ink is still reported as low, it may be an actual fault in the printer unfortunately, stopping it reading the ink amount correctly.
But by far the most common problem is just needing a clean inside.

Sounds as if you have either Linux or a Mac computer. There are ink level monitors for these operating systems, However there can be problems installing them.

On Windows the ink level monitor should pop up when printing. It is part of the printer utilities. Open printer properties and set the options desired.

When the printer stops printing, press the ink button and remove the indicated cartridge and replace. If more than one remove and shake next to your ear, replace the empty cartridges only. A tiny amount of ink remains in the cartridge when empty. This amount is so small it has a distinct sound signature compared to a part used cartridge.

you can adjust the dry time. go to printer and faxes and right click select preference, there should be tabs select features then below should be advance features select that and there you can adjust the dry time and amount of ink.

Replace the applicable ink tank with a new one. Printing with a once-empty or refilled ink tank can damage the print head. If printing is continued without replacing the refilled ink tank, press the Stop/Reset button for 5 sec. or longer to record the use of a refilled ink tank. Note: After the above operation, the function to detect the remaining ink amount is disabled.
