I was charging my YP-T9 and unplugged the USB, but now it won't turn on. Reset won't work. Just looks completely dead.

try and plug it in directly to the wall and not on battery if that fails then try and remove one thing at a time and try booting until it boots first try removing the hard drive, then if that dosent work try the memory if that fails then you could have a bad fan inside that needs replacing or just cloged with dirt try and blow it all out with a can of compressed air
Mine is a different version but i had similar problem.
When installing the software off the cd you shouldn't have the mp3 pluged in. Plug it in after it is installed.
For the turning on problem, I just had to hold the on switch down for a few seconds and then it turned on.
I plug in my mp3 player and it will say: charging. then it jumps to:

hiya I have a sony bean too and it does exactly the same thing as yours, if you havent sorted it out yet all you have to do is look under the usb flap and you will see a reset button, push it gentally with a pin, it will work agauin and you wont loose all your music, hope this helps
