You can go to radio shack and grab a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. make sure that is male -to - male. Some decks are equipped with an AUX IN in the front and some in the back and then some have both. This wire will resemble the same input end of an earphone plug. Once you have your device plugged in then just press the SRC button on your deck till it says AUX, AUX IN, or Audio. Let me know if this helps

I just bought the aux cable to connect my I phone 4 to my cde-9881 alpine stereo but when I hooked it up my iPhone connects to the head unit but only plays music thru the speaker on the phone. Why??

try playing your music first on your phone then with the cord alreay in your radio, plug it in to your phone....If that doesnt work, might be a setting on your radio....is it on aux in????

No sound through AUX out

the aux output is for an mp3 player or ipod. Does the HU have preamp outputs? The RCAs from the amp should go into them. If it doesn't you might have to get a high to low level input converter

AUX doesnt work good. when i plug in my cord to my ipod and put the cord into the head unit the volume is really low and it sounds bad. i raised the volume up on my ipod all the way and its still the same

Test the cord first , the three parts on the male should make a different tone while connected to your radio Aux, If you can find a second cord test it again if not most likely your radio is bad.

How do I turn on the "external aux" for my pioneer DEH-p7000r

You'll need an adapter cable such as this one:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?search=ip+bus&i=469PIOPRCA

The adapter cable will convert the changer port on your head unit into an AUX input with dual RCA jacks. Once connected, the head unit will detect the cable and allow it to be another source (i.e. radio, cd, aux).

To connect your iPod to the adapter cable, use any iPod cable or dock that outputs to male RCA plugs.

SIRIUS RADIO

that unit has aux inputs in the back they are rca level inputs.. your "stratus" has an audio output that is a 3.5 mm jack or standard headphone jack, with the appropriate patch cord, you can connect the two devices giving you the best possible sound quality. you would use the aux source on the head unit to listen to sirius. this feature may need to be turned on in the menu.

IPOD AND THE JVC

does your head unit have audio inputs in the back?

if it doesn't have audio inputs i would use a 3.5mm to 2 a/v inputs. They sell those cords at radioshack for a few bucks i use one to run my 900w pioneer surround sound off my computer.

if you have an aux input thats 3.5mm though you can just get the standard aux connector.
