hi, im not allowed to tell you much as its something that is banned on the site so anything relating to r4 cards or copied games is not allowed so i can only tell you what the problem is and point you in the right direction ok.
now the reason the ds wont see the r4 card is due to the latest update nintendo sent out to the ds's this latest update had software in it that prevented people from using r4 to play games.
all i can tell you is if you search using google and type in why wont my ds play r4 card after update and hit search. also search for this, how to downgrade my ds so i can use the r4 card, then hit search,
that should then tell you all you need to know and get you sorted.
im sorry i cant be more help but i would be kicked off the site so i can only point you in the right direction.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
please rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
Do you have the original R4 card? It's possible that your DS isn't recognising it because the original one (before the R4i and R4 SDHC came out etc) only accepts up to 2GB Micro-SD cards. You should check the size of the Micro-SD card you're using at the moment.
I recommend buying R4i cards / R4i DS cards from either dscardworld.com or nds-gear.com - probably nds-gear if you're in Canada or Europe since their international rates are a bit cheaper
Or you could get a card that never has a date error like the M3i Zero card. I got mine from http://www.dscardworld.com and it never has given me any problems.
Try using the original R4 firmware instead of R4 Wood (check out nintendodscards.com for the download page, the original firmware should be around there) or buying a newer genuine card from either dscardworld.com or nds-gear.com - both sell real cards but nds-gear has better shipping rates to Canada and Europe. Good luck!
First get the R4 OS installed onto the card (into the root dir), then make a sub directory called NDS. Put your .NDS files into that directory. you should now have a couple of sub dirs, NDS, Moonshl2, and r4iMenu or something similar. and some r4 OS files in the root directory.
R4 should boot, then pick the left icon (games) and load a game from the resulting list.
Yes you must extract the files. It won't play from a zip file. all files must end in .NDS for them to work. There are a lot of cool homebrew out there for these cards, have fun.
