Ice tray filler tube freezes up and clogs up so no water goes into tray

This problem is caused by a defective water control valve that does not stop leaking water like a dripping faucet. This causes water to freeze in the water fill tube thus blocking fill of ice tray. Replace water control valve.

Possibly the water control valve is leaking when shut off, and water constantly drips into the ice tray fill tube. When this happens, the fill tube becomes clogged with ice, and the ice tray does not fill. The ice tray will cycle often, because there is no water in the tray, but will remain empty. If this is the case, the water control valve at the bottom rear of the refrigerator will have to be replaced.

Put some water in the tray. Let it freeze and once frozen will the ice then empty into the ice bin? If yes then the problem is possibly one side of the water control valve is defective. This is not the correct water control valve for your model number. HERE You need to provide the correct model number first.

The problem you are having is caused by water leaking past the=> MJX42111401 Water Inlet Valve Change the MJX42111401 Water Inlet Valve and this will solve the water freezing between ice harvest. You pull it out from inside the freezer but I would try melting any ice that may be stopping it up first with a hairdryer. The water inlet valve on the back of fridge is probably leaking and when the water gets to to fill tube it freezes and partially blocks the tube causing it to spray out. Disconnect the line coming out of the water inlet valve to see if it has a slow leak. You may need to replace the valve.

This has happened to me and probably alot of others as well. Sometimes the water freezes in the tube that is filling the tray. get a flashlight and a small srewdriver. Carefully remove the ice maker from the freezer to get to the filler hose. If you see ice present that is the problem. Remove the ice and reinstall the ice maker. This is tedious sometimes because there just isn't much room to get to the fill hose. Hope this helps.

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere,pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over

sounds as if your water inlet valve is not closing fast enough allowing a small amoutn of water to accummulate in fill tube freezing and eventually freezing solid, would try replacing water inlet valve, or even the water filter if this model is so equipped
