I need to get my son's laptop onto our family network. We can not find the pass key. What do we do?
Pass keys are used on wireless networks to keep your neighbors from using your network. which ever computer you set up the wireless router with go into the software and remove the requirement for the pass key. should be in properties or settings or security. good luck
Log into your router's web interface, if possible through a computer connected to the router by cable, by starting an internet browser and navigatng to its maintenance IP address, usually set by many manufacturers to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. An authentication request will come up. As you haven't speciffied your router model, there are routers whose both user name and password fields are set to 'admin'. Other routers use 'admin' as user name only, requiring the password field to be left empty. Once you get into the router's web interface, go to the wireless settings, and change the wireless passphrase to a new one of your choice. Make sure to change the other devices, which use to connect to the router, to the same new passphrase.
If you need further details, please, provide your router model and manufacturer.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Regards,
Carlos
