No Colour Hi, I'm stuck! Can't get colour on my new Telefunken TEL 4207 TV. Connected to cable via Motorola 5000 Streamliner set top box feeding into an Onkyo TX - SR674 a/v amp and then YRB cable into TV. Many Thanks Andy

If you have no color, you are only getting the Y signal and the Pb and Pr are getting lost somewhere. check other devices like dvd to see where the cables may be loose or connected incorrectly.

With set up box audio in to tv causes high pitch sound

I am assuming this should read 'Set top box'. What kind of cable are you using?

Usually the set top box connects via a SCART lead but yours may be HDMI if it is a very new set top box.

If you are using RCA plugs, you may have cross connected the wrong cables. The RCA cables should be colour-coded. RED and WHITE are for audio, Yellow is for video.

Best advice is to switch it all off, remove all the cables you attached, and start again. The instruction manual/user guide usually has an illustration to help you identify what your set up looks like - there are usually several examples.

If the cables you need did not come with the set top box, you will need to purchase them.

When you are connecting audio leads, you should use the 'audio out' on the set top box and the 'audio in' on your TV set.

It would help to know the EXACT model number of LG screen you have and the make and EXACT model number of the set top box.

Good luck.

Sony kvj21mf1ak

It sounds like either the TV or the device is trying to do S video instead of composite video.
see if you can change the output type of the media player and make sure that the TV input is not set to S Video.

I have a Sony bravia 32" (KLV-32T400A) and have just bought an xbox.. On trying to connect it using the HDMI input an error comes up saying that it's not a supported signal. I also tried plugging my laptop...

All hd-ready tv's only support max 1080i and not 1080p. The default setting on the Xbox is 1080p, that's why you get that message. There is a way to fix this, just follow the steps below:

Connect TV and X box via HDMI cable with units switched off.

Switch both units on.

  1. Press the right arrow 7 times (Left top jog knob on game controller)

  2. Press "A" button 4 times (Green button)

  3. Press "up" arrow once to set to 1080i

  4. Press "up" arrow once again to set to 720p.

  5. Press "A" to store setting

Please be advice that CC :Text is the ONLY one that can give you a black box.
