Problem with Intermec 3400 ribbon supply

Hello I have an Intermec 3400 that seems to have a problem with the ribbon supply motor. I send a test page or barcode to the printer to print and the white label paper moves, but the black ribbon ink paper doesnt recoil and simply slides out with the white label paper. My guess is that the ribbon supply motor is not working becawse the black ribbon Ink paper should move along with the white paper, as it stands, only the white paper motor is moving inside the printer.

Please help.

Hello, we tried disasembling the printer and found that the ribon that moves the ribon suply wheel had broken. It was temporarily repaired with tape and the printer now works fine.

Question, do you sell the ribon that moves the ribon suply wheel individualy?

Hello, we tried to fix the problem and disasembled the printer. When disasembled we found that the motor that moves the ribon suply wheel was fine, the problem was a broken band from the motor to the ribon suply wheel. This band was fixed with tape and the printer is now operational again.

Question, do you sell this internal band or ribon as a spare part?

If that doesn't work, it sounds like it may not be set up for thermal transfer and therefore not running the ribbon. Check the DIP switches and the manual for the correct setup.

Just take the head of ink outside and clean it carfully and return it back it will work. use clean solution.

The Thermal transfer labels are not readable when I print to the Intermec easy coder PM4I. They print too light. I can use the same ribbon and label stock on an Intermec 3400 printer and they print...

You can adjust the darkness level +/- 10. If you adjust it all the way to 10 and it is still too light, there is a print head pressure adjustment screw to the left of the ribbon feed roller.
