Garmin not recognising roads

Either you are in GPS simulator mode or you are unable to receive satellite signals. go into your tools menu Tools > Settings > System > "check if GPS simulator is activated". De activate if it is and your unit should work fine, if this dosent work try giving the unit an update using Garmins WebUpdater software it can be obtained from this link http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp.

Your GPS might be in simulation mode. Try going into the tools and settings and i'm not sure which icon to click on but it will allow you to change it off of the simulation mode if that is the problem.

Press the menu button on the nuvi, then press the system or the simulation button, and tell it the simulation off or disable. I have a older model, and it is under system menu.

if you recently plotted a course and used the simulation mode, it will stay there either till you deactivate it, or you arrive at the destination. go to the simulation mode and see if its in simulation, if so, stop it.

all garmin nuvi users reset device small button on bottom then plug into computer using usb cable back up the nuvi folder in my computer,just in case, then run virus check on device`s nuvi folder when finished unplug safely , hopefully should be back to normal i have down this with 2 nuvi`s with keyboard problems and it has worked both times hope works for you regards [email protected]

I believe your current location is somewhere in UK/Ireland, which means the Nuvi's last/current satellite fix is not anywhere within Spain/Portugal. If you need to use the maps features of that country where you're not physically there with the Nuvi, the Nuvi must be in Simulation mode first. Fold down the antenna to switch off GPS (not device) and enter Simulation mode.

Then, scroll the map screen (combinations of zooming out, browsing, and zooming in to the spot) until you find the location you want to simulate (it must be within the maps coverage). Then, tap 'Set Loc' at the bottom of the screen. At this point, as far as the Nuvi is concerned, this is the GPS location where you are at. Then you may proceed with Address Search, etc. using the other map's database.

Try setting your GPS mode to WAAS and then back. It's a calibration issue. Also, make sure you update your unit.

Your Garmin is in simulate route mode. Flip the antenna up to turn on GPS.
