When I insert the USB modem system showing ew_hwusbdev.sys is needed like asking? what is that?

http://systemexplorer.net/file-database/file/ew_hwusbdev-sys/2347207

Driver: A small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

Operating System examples are Windows XP, and Windows 7, for two examples.

The device is the USB Modem System.

Did you use the installation disk that came with this system?
It has the DRIVERS on it.

Xp in hp dv 6907 tx

If the laptop came from HP with Vista as the OEM operating system then the BIOS has been programmed to accept that operating system and only that operating system...other than windows 7. I have been told though that if you have a non-oem hard drive and initialize it on another computer and install it, there may be a chance nthat it will take an XP disc that has been streamed with service pack 3.

I can't install modem drivers for SB 5100 motorola (usb) on my laptop having windows vista. An error is showing that no cable found connecting the modem and computer. Can someone help me how to set this...

Here are the current windows Vista drivers from motorola:

http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/products/SB5100/downloads/542708-001-install-utility-b.exe

Hope this helps you on your journey

Let me know if you have anything else.

I also would recommend you use ethernet since you do not have to install any software to make it work.

You will need to reboot the cable modem when ever you change how its connected also Ethernet/USB or if it was connected to a different PC.

Installing windows xp on hp pavilion dv 6516 tx

I'm not sure solution #1 is very explanatory, so....

IF you want to install XP on your computer, Windows XP will load most of the drivers you need automatically.
For the drivers that are specific to your HP pavilion
you will be able to download device drivers from HP website
or, request a driver CD

When XP is installed [assuming you or someone can do that]
you can:
Go to the 'My Computer' icon [right-click]
Choose:
  • 'Properties'
  • Then Choose 'Hardware'
  • Finally, choose 'Device Manager'
Here you will have a list of all your hardware
If you have any drivers that need to be installed, there should be
a yellow (?) question mark by the name of the hardware

Most devices/hardware will be handled by XP SP2
The default drivers will be loaded automatically
For example, your keyboard:

e83fe6a.jpg

Above you see the window that opens if I double-click on
the 'Keyboard' icon.

For XP to function, you only have to worry about the ones
with the yellow (?) question mark

Or, if you want to add a specific driver, like a Video or Sound driver, but you don't see a yellow (?) question mark
you can still install/update the driver at the 'driver' tab
[second tab in the picture above]

If you need more specific help I can do that too

USB

checked my XP via control panel: usbhub.sys usbohci.sys usbport.sys usbui.sys good luck...may be difficult to force drivers...when system asks to install software, insert the original XP cd. The driver did not change with SP2, as far as I know.
