Have a new PIXMA iP3300 printer turned on first time today. Am not novice user. Printer apparently physically set up OK and software loaded normally. Print quality after alignment checks etc seems fine but pages have a vertical blank line 2-3mm thick running down whole printed page about 8.5 cm from the left paper border. This is not a smudge etc but printer has inserted an extra space at this point of each line on the page so, for example, the word "was" becomes "w as". On two or three lines also the words have been horizontally split so, for example, the top of a "y" is followed half a space later by the tail of the "y" etc.
Check the front paper exit rollers for fit and alignment also the paper deck guides close to the planten area, if the printer is dropping print vertically down one side of the page, this can be caused by debris or anything that lifts the caridge assy the slightest bit, also check the print head seating and ribbin cable for proper alignment

The printer head is my be block. In these situation you need to wash the printer head with cleaner., and the same time push some amonia solution with the seringe through the black ink output pin gentaly. Then re assamble and turn on the printer .
I think You may rid from your problem.
Thank you.
Hi,
it sounds as if you may have the picture quality set to draft, its worth a check, especially if printing is ok. Does it print colour writing well too or just black, one of the colour inks may have a block or be low, go into printer settings menu and check what print quality its set for.
1. Start with the printer OFF 2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER 3. release RESUME 4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER 5. Let green light blink until printer is done moving print head
Press RESUME 4 times then POWER to execute the command
I have a Epson Stylus photo printer that I keep turned off . I turn it on only when I want to print something which is seldom. From a cold start mine takes over the two moinutes going through some sort of routine. I have had and used this printer through three sets of ink and it has always been this way. My other realy old Tractor feed "pin printer" I turn on and print as soon as it as it starts. I think the new printers warm up and go through that routine. I believe it to be normal, Yes.
Even if it is on it stll take much more time that the ribbon one.
I had the same problem with the yellow cartridge. At first when I resinserted it, it would solve the problem, but today even that didn't work.
I did solve the problem by clearing all print jobs, turning the printer off and then on, and then running a cleaning cycle on the color nozzles. I don't know why this fixed things, but my yellow was suddenly recognized without any further fiddling.
