What is the setting for the push-pull lever on the right side of my in-window air conditioner? thanks

If you want to pull fresh air into the room and not use the cooling part of the unit. pull the lever out. If you don't want to introduce fresh air into the room during the cooling cycle, push the lever in.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a window mounted unit. There is a lever that says exhaust and it has two settings. Up is 'closed' and down is 'open'. I have no owners manual so could you please explaine what this...

This lever is for the air vent control. Open it to allow fresh air to enter the conditioned space and close to make sure that the air outside will not mix with the inside air. Opening it also allows to exhaust cold air from the room.

I have a Silhouette ll Rudd unit, on top It has a lever to open & close what should this be adjusted to in summer,

If your referring to the fresh air recycle air function, open uses fresh air and runs less efficient. So if your looking for efficiency leave it closed. if your trying to get rid of funky smells in your house, leave it open.

Re: air cond. should exhaust lever be open or closed to cool off?

Im not sure what type of unit you are speaking about but in general a window airconditioner unit will have an exhaust button. This button generally opens a small door that allows a small ammount of fresh air to mix with the conditioned air from the room. When it is closed all of the air is recycled from the room. To cool a room fastest, close the outside air inlet.

Chemicals in house from pool when running air conditioner

Hi,
There is a small possibility that the air conditioner is sucking some of the air outside. If you're using a window type a/c, there is a small fresh air intake vent you can open and close. If your using a wall type or free standing a/c, fresh air would only come from opening doors or windows. Using a centralized a/c has a fresh air intake and that could be the cause of your problem. The solution would be an anti-odor filter.

I hope this helps.

Window air conditioner

There should be a lever marked vent, fresh air or something like that to draw outside air in. I'm not sure what you by dry because 50% of a/c is dehumidification. This maybe a sales feature. Please call me at 504-722-3946 I own an a/c company and like to know more about this feature.

Buttons

F1, F2, and F3 are the strength of the fan blowing the air conditioner. F1 circulates the least amount of air, F3 the most. I generally find that if the air conditioner isn't getting the job done on F1, F2 will do it. I typically only use F3 if I just want to circulate air fast in my place for awhile. As far as what is "better" with closed vent or open, that depends on what you want to do. If you are using air conditioning on a hot day, then vent closed is better because it will cool only air circulating in your place. Vent open will allow fresh air in from outside, and if it's a really hot day, the air conditioner might have a harder time cooling off the fresh air than the circulating air inside your place (as it's continually being cooled repeatedly by your air conditioner).

1990's Emerson Quiet Kool window air conditioner

Hi, It opens a flap that allows fresh outside air to come in. The opening it screen covered on most units so no insects get in. To get the most cooling it is best to leave it closed. If you want fresher air, open it. Please rate my suggestion if it has helped. Thank you and, Have a good day. kstfas
