My depth finder Furuno ETR-6/10 stop displaying the depth, just shows dashes, the display also does not indicate correct under water data. I have checked all connectors and replaced the ground wire. How can I check to see if it is the sounder or the ETR-6/10?

plug in a known good transducer and see if that fixes it

SOURCE: furuno 4100 depth sounder shows depth twice what it really is

check your gain setting try auto gain and try manually gaining back to see if it resolves, if yes, send unit in to furuno, if no, ducer is probably at fault.

SOURCE: depth sounder problem

If the transducer is mounted off of level, an error is introduced due to angle. It is a fixed percent offset, say 10%. so 10 feet reads 11 and 100 reads 110. There is an offset function to read depth below ducer, depth below keel, and depth below waterline, but these are fixed amounts in feet, not a percentage. Look at the transducer when it is operating, boat angle considered.

How do i find water depth

Water depth should show automatically on your sonar page.
if it does not then either you have selected "stop sonar" under your sonar options or you have opted to turn off the depth displayou so the numbers don't show up.
if you areally viewing your GPS or split screen sonar/GPS page, sometimes the depth display is not visible on these pages unless you specifically instruct the unit to display it.

Here is a link to Lowrance where you can download a pic version of the operators manual.
Go to page 11 "overlay data" this will give you a step by step of how to add data or readouts to different screens.

Our new 787C2 fish finder by Humminbird is not working correctly. It worked for our first view fishing trips, but now the display is not showing any color, structure or fish. It tells us the depth and...

This could be a lot of things. The unit employs multiple signals to gather data and it could be the transponder not getting the signal or it could be something simple like the sensitivity. Humminbird 757c Operation Manual Sensitivity

My furuno depth finder gives me crazy depth readings after i go over 10knots..whats the problem?

Turbulence on the transducer is almost certain. If transom mounted, **** it slightly deeper aft and ensure that the leading edge is not exposed. If through hull, call me 847-746-0100

Lowrance depth finder missing adapter cable

I own a 1995 Four Winns and what you need is a Lowrance LSM-1 depth finder unit. It accepts the two pin lead from the transducer and send the depth reading to the dashboard display via the 6-pin connector. There is also a three wire harness (red/blk/wht) that connects to a power supply.

The reason I know all this is my depth finder fried a couple years ago so I removed the Lowrance LSM-1 from the boat in order to find a replacement. Unfortunately, this was an OEM part that is not available from Four Winns or any aftermarket source. Probably your best bet is to look in a boat salvage yard or purchase an aftermarket depth finder.

Hi- I have a 1996 Four winns boat with the same problem. I believe we are missing an adapter cable which goes from the depth cable to the instrument panel. I have not been able to locate this cable yet. If I find it I will let you know and can you do the same for me if you locate one?

Raymarine st8002 wired to furuno

The st8002 is not compatble with rs232 data. You need to supply it with nmea 0183 data. You will need to wire it to the "NMEA port IN" on the pilot to NMEA out on your Furuno and turn on the mnea sentances "out" on your Furuno. You will need to turn on at least the following sentances GGA GLL RMB RMC.Hope that helps.

WAAS

sounds like the problem is with the pilot. You may be expecting too much from nav mode you should check the antenna connector on the WAAS issue
on VX2, are you marking a good bottom on the sonar screen, but have no digital overlaid? never seen it, must be a BB thing
