How can I save a scan to my computer? I just got a printer/scanner and there are no Save, or Save As options in the HP scan software?? Help!!!

I would like to know the following, please get back to me
* HP Printer model
* Operating System
* Is the HP Software installed..

as a work around you can perform the steps below to save a scan in the computer.

Try to scan using one of the two methods below:

1. Scanning from Microsoft Paint:

Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Paint.
Click File and then click From Scanner or Camera.
If this option is not available, Please let me know.
If more than one image source is connected, select the
HP all-in-one product and click Next. The scanning software will appear.
Preview the image by selecting Preview, or click "Scan" to scan the image directly into Paint.
The image will open in paint for editing and/or saving.

2. Using Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)

Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.

Click Start.

Click Control panel.

Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.

Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.

    • Show preview...: Select this check box if you want to see a preview before the actual scan.

When I press scan, on My HP F380, it comes straight to Email save options, which I do not want to do, I wish to save it as a picture, what do I do?
You need to change the settings from

HP Solution Center

When you will open Hp Solution Center You will see settings under that Scan Settings and under that you will find save to option you can select the desired one from there.

The scan options are on your computer, you need to have HP scanning software running to tell the scanner how to scan the document where to send it and how to save it. No options means the scanned image would have nowhere to go.

After the scan, the program cannot save the file.
Alright, Open the "paint " program from all program/accessories/paint".

click on the file and click on the option scanner and camera wizard after that you will get a option for "scan" please click on scan to make and change and once when scan get complete. click on file and click on the save as to save the document.

I cant save a scanned picture to my computer
If you are using the HP Director, when you select you scanning options one of the options is the destination for the resulting scan. You can select e-mail, saving it as a file on your hard disk or network, putting it into the clipboard, etc.

ergo your problem!!
You must have scanning software installed on your PC in order for the 2 devices to communicate. It should have come bundled on the CD you got with the printer. I believe the HP software is called HPDirector.
Please find on your PC or install from your CD & that will enable you to scan to your PC.
It may already be installed. You will need to run the software to enable communications between the 2 devices.

Scanning to import to a computer
Normal 0 The best way to scan images to save on your computer is touse the scanner software on the computer. Not the scan function on the scanner.
You don't say what type of scanner and software you have but usually scannersoftware works this way:
1) Place photo on scanner
2) Open scanner software
3) Using the software, Initiate scan
4) Name the Scanned item and save it to your desired location/folder
Note: some applications will automatically save to --My Documents--My Pictures
5) Repeat process for each pic to be scanned.

Go to www.hp.com/support and then search for scan diagnostic utility. Use the utility to diagnose what's the exact problem with your scanning. It have a button for fix. you could use the utility to solve your problem. If there is no option for the printer when you are finish downloading the scan diagnostic utility then you need to uninstall the software for hp solution center, hp imaging device and hp photosmart driver in the add/remove programs. Then reinstall the software using the downloaded software in hp website and make sure that it is the full feature
