The symptom is caused by a major component failure, causing the TV to go into 'protection mode'.
The set will NOT switch on until the fault has been repaired.
The fault needs professional attention, since it could be any of the following: Line output, Power supply or Frame scan circuit.
If google and manufacturer website are of no help then ask a search agency like http://manualfox.com - They do a great job. The service is not for free, but often worthy (you only pay if they find what you are asking for).
This televison had problems with electrolytic filter capacitors in the secondary of its switched mode regulated power supply. Look on the power supply/deflection board and replace all capacitors with domed tops. These are usually in the 2200 microfarad range.
Capacitors in power supply if it trys to come on with a green light then goes off and attempts to try again maybe 3 times total before it is off completely
I hope it is still under warranty, cause you need to either fix the problem with a A/V repair guy or return it and get your money back. Don't fool around with it. solutiondoct
Hello,
This denotes a problem on the power supply board. This TV actually splits the power supply board into two parts. The first takes AC and turns it into DC and uses that to activate the Switching power supply board which supplies power to the rest of the TV set. The problem may be a blown fuse, however I think that the issue involves the switching power supply. I would suggest having a qualified TV technician repair this for you both.
I hope this helps,
Thank you
