When he hit the screen, he most likely broke through the protective glass screen and broke the lcd screen that displays your picture. It's probably better for you to just replace the tv itself, it'll be more costly to repair the tv than to replace it.
John, my recommendation is for a new set. The glass is bonded to the LCD with expensive and toxic materials and with a sophisticated process. The cost for glass to fit your set would also be extremely expensive and usually not worth the hassle.
Yes it can be fixed most certainly. You have broken your Plasma screen and most certainly scratched your filter glass with the broken screen glass inside. Depending on where you bought the TV, and whether you have a cover plan, you may get the Tv screen & Filter replaced under accidental damage. If the TV is still under warranty and you dont have a cover plan, you may find the repair will be refused. If so, you could maybe buy the same tv off ebay as repairs or spares and fix yours.
No, I'm sorry, but the technology to fix the actual lcd SCREEN is not out there yet. The reason you don't see it when it is off is because it is actually the inside of the screen that break, unlike plasma tv's, when they break there will be actual glass fragments. If the broken area is to big to deal with, then the options are; buying and installing a new screen (alway about the same price off the tv new, or more), you could sell the insides of the tv on Ebay for example, they are very much needed parts (powerboard etc)....Those are about the only options, unfortunatly...If selling the powerboard, you shopuld be able to get around$100 for it...
Once again, I'm sorry I didn't have good news, but please rate if it was usefull, thank you!
It's the display screen. The 65v glass mirror is inside the cabinet that reflects the image onto the screen. I think what you want is the
front display screen....... and a leather belt.
