When reviewing the electronic program guide (EPG), then selecting the relevant program selection' The outlined paragraph giving the story line and / plot of the program, only show the beginning section of the paragraph.
I've tried rescanning the TV channels, scrolling up/down/left/right on the paragraph but still same problem of only half the paragraph.
Also, when scrolling through the channels via the remote controller, the title of the previousn program is still evident, i.e. it dosen't refresh to the current program.
I had the same problem, what fixed it for me was to set auto scan to setup all the channels for me again. Another thing to check would be whether it is set up to use CATV or AIR.
It is NOT the main board. You need a V CHIP UPGRADE "epk file" Email me and I can walk you through it, very easy [email protected] Put "TV GUIDE" in the subject line
The problem started with TV GUIDE messing with things while they are doing their digital conversion

Feb 8, 2010 - TV: Philips 42pfl9703 ... I found that data is loaded, but randomlystopped. ... EPG grabbing is busy, but still the system shuts down to early.
What make and model are you using? Do you have the user's manual? Most DVRs have an electronic program Guide where you find the program on the day you want and you simply select it for recording. The little iView 3600STB II I have for over-the-air TV recording can only list one station at a time and at most only about 12 hours ahead of time. So when I want to record something on the next day I can't do it unless I do within that 12 hour time frame. (NOTE: The instructions in the user's manual says that the box EPG will show one week's worth of programming, and as I've just said I've never seen it list more than 12 hours worth of programming and most times less than that.)
You are getting that message because the receiver is not updating the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). Try unplugging the receiver from your electrical outlet for about 10 seconds (make sure all lights on receiver go out) and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and re-acquire satellite signal. Allow it also to download the program guide. After you get your channel back, pull up your guide, go into the future to see if it updated.
If it did not update, you'll need to run a check switch test. Press Menu on your DISH remote; should have Main Menu on TV screen. Press 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1(Point Dish). Highlight the CHECK SWITCH button on the upper right of the screen and press the Select button on remote. On the Installation Summary screen, highlight the TEST button at the bottom of screen and press the Select button on the remote. This will initiate the test. Allow the test to complete. Once completed, exit out of each screen till you get to Acquiring Satellite Signal on TV screen. After acquisition completion, allow it to download the program guide. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may need a new receiver. I hope this helps.
If you get just the grey glowing screen (as shown in my guide), it means that the T-CON board on the LCD panel is not getting the 5 or 12vdc from the logic board or it has blown fuse on the T-CON board due to shorts circuits, not much you can do but replacing the LCD panel.
EPG or Electronic Programme Guide is the on-screen version of a tv guide for digital tv. The remote control usually has a dedicated button for the display of the EPG.
The information displayed is often incomplete and some digital boxes or tv sets perform better than others though in theory it needs no setting up. Once the box has searched and made a channel list the programme guide will be available.
hyundai will not repair this however a electronic service center aka tv repair may. I can do it as most likely is it several capacitors that have blown. Hyundai is also a little picky to open they are assembled very well actually compared to other monitors (they are difficult to open up) let me know what you would liek to do.
Question? Whenever I turn on the television, the GUIDE Plus+™ or GUIDE Plus+ GOLD™ on-screen program guide automatically comes on. Answer: The GUIDE Plus+™ or GUIDE Plus+ GOLD™ on-screen program guide automatically comes up when you use the TV button on the remote to turn on the TV. There are several ways to turn off this function if you wish, depending on your model.
Option A: Select the GUIDE Plus+™ Menu from the Main menu. Select Setup. Select Options. Select Off.
Option B: Select the GUIDE Plus+™ Menu from the Main menu. Select GUIDE Plus+™ Auto Display from the GUIDE Plus+ menu. Select Off.
Option C: Press GUIDE on your remote control. Select the Menu bar. Press the right arrow button to select Setup. Choose Review Options. Select Off.
I know Option C worked for me!!
Given the many TV models, it's possible that accessing control of this feature in the Program Guide menu may differ on your TV. For specific instructions for your model, see your owner's manual.
