Acer Aspire 6530-5143 Notebook PC Logo
Anonymous Posted on May 20, 2010

I have an Acer Aspire 6530 running Windows Vista and today it started shutting off at random. When it shuts off the bottom 2/3 of the screen has blue stripes across it, and on the blue is text I cannot read. The rest of the screen is black. Then it turns off completely. When the PC is turned on again windows detects that the PC shut down unexpectedly and sends an error report. Is this a problem with my PC or with Windows Vista?

Video adapter - when I go to Sound, video and game controllers there are only audio devices "ATI HDMI Audio" and "Realtek High Definition Audio".

Nowhere else in the list is there anything close to a video driver - could it be under a different name?

My computer is often hot, this is nothing new, I've tried everything suggested for a PC running hot and nothing has worked.

No it doesn't happen at the same time.

I have the PC in safe mode and all is well so far.

    Thanks for your prompt response.

Good question.

Does the computer feel hot when it shuts off?

Does it always happen at the same exact time?

Can you try booting the computer into Safe Mode? (What Happens?)

First thing I'd try is uninstalling the video adapter driver under device manager and restart the computer.

Let me know what happens!

The crystal eye web cam on my acer aspire 6530 can not be found...it was working for a little while when I downloaded skype...then it just stopped. How do I get it running again?

You need to redownload the drivers for your crystal eye web cam. Go to this link: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

When you get there, select "Notebook"...then select "Aspire". Then scroll down and select Aspire 6530. Then where you see "Operating System", select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down until you see the camera driver software and then download and reinstall it. Hopefully this will help...good luck.

Hi ` I`ve got an Acer Aspire 6530 G laptop and I OS Vista but have no tried Windows 7 but the Acer Crystal eye web camera is not working so can you please explain hat I should do ??? Thank you Elisabeth...

Check from Acer Support Europe.
As for the camera for your Acer Aspire 6530 G, there are 2 model versions by vendors:- 1. Bison, 2. Suyin. Are you sure you have correctly install the correction drivers version on your Laptop Vista OS?

If you are not sure, check the laptop specifications manual/brochure, or you can reinstall the drivers for the camera by Trial & Error method. If it does work uninstall rejected drivers and install the next drivers.

Download Camera drivers @ Acer Support Site (UK)

Hope it helps.

When your computer is first booting, try tapping F12 to get to the boot menu. Once there, boot from the Vista installation disk- you may need to fully reinstall windows from that point. Try doing a repair first- if that does not work, do a full reinstall.

You can use a torrent site like isoHUNT, to download a copy of the Acer OEM vista disc, this is a little illegal, but if you use your own Windows key from your COA sticker, it should register and activate ok.
You may have to download your drivers seperatly from from ACER.
You will need a torrent client like UTorrent, and the download could take a day or so

I installed the Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade (store bought) and now my Acer Aspire 5735 gets blue screens, shuts itself down, and random programs get the "**** has stopped working" message.

you shouldn't of installed it because if you would of ran the windows 7 compatibility thing that is on the disc, it would say that your computer is incompatible. You should buy another copy of windows xp and install that.
