I went to a local stereo shop and listened to some 4x6 speakers. I liked the way the boston speakers sounded. I asked the salesman if he was running a amp with this set up he answered no. I brought them home and insalled them in a 01 Wrangler. I turned the stereo on and my wife and I feel they sound nothing like the ones we listened to at the storeo shop. I remember that the store had them in an enclosure and in my Wrangler there relly is no enclosure. Do you think this my be a prombloem?
They might have had a mini amp installed in each speaker some models of speakers have that feature to where u have to hook up power and also the regular speaker connections to the radio system basically even if you have a radio with some power then the speakers may have some type of crossover or something that makes it so if u dont have the power hooked up to them then they wont work right... but there are some speakers out there that dont do that, or it could be that if the stereo that u r using may just be that it has barely any output so it doesnt power the speakers... option 1, if it is the stereo then u will eather have to go to a car shop that sells the self powering speakers "not as cheap as regular speakers" and get those or, option 2, which consists of having to install a new stereo system with more power "remember the system hass to have a little more power than all the speakers combined together..."

Scroll down to the 3.5mm Stereo Jack / RCA Plug x 2 Y-Cable
Converts your TRS connectors to dual RCA plugs. You said you have 3 TRS connectors. Does the TV have 3 sets of RCA plugs you can use with this? If not, you may not be able to get full surround sound, just stereo sound, from your TV - and you'll need some RCA splitters to plug two (or three) cables into one port. I know you can get those at Radio Shack.
Try to isolate the problem. Connect the speakers to another computer or mp3 player or stereo. Test the speakers for sound making sure all volume switches are on. If they work look to sound settings on your computer.
Looking up these speakers, it appears that they connect via a 3.5mm headphone jack. This type of interface does not require a hardware driver. Instead you need the driver for your sound card, download the driver from the website hosted by the manufacturer of your computer. please rate my solution
sounds like the wires maybe crossed try this 1st fade your stereo left or right if it sounds better with one speaker playing your polarity is backwards unhook 1 of the speakers and reverse the wires hope this helps
Lucky you there are adapters for almost everything according to sound:) so you can easy buy an adapter that solves your problem,
Go to a good store that is specialist on "sounds"/"HiFi" and they will sell you the adapter you need, No need to get rid of the boston system.
The Guys at Boston Acoustics helped me get my speakers to work. The Boston BA7500 speakers are coaxial digital speakers so you need a digital output on your sound card. Analog will NOT work. My new HP Pavilion has a Realtek sound card with a digitial RCA plug output. I had to go to Amazon and get a male RCA to 1/8" Stereo Mini Female adapter plug. I just pluged it in and configured my sound card to 16 bit 48 khz output to the RCA output and everything works great. The speakers sound better then ever, great for 10 year old speakers! They sound better then anything I have seen avalable today. The guys at Boston were the only guys that helped with getting this to work! Thanks again to them and Amazon has every type of adapter plug you may need. Good luck.
yes if you have a earphone connection on the laptop you may get a earplug to rca spliter that should connect to both, here is a website http://www.cablesnmor.com/rca-mini-stereo.html
