Instruction manual toshiba

Hi,
I did a factory restore on my Toshiba because after I did a system restore to an earlier date it still was not working like before nor could it pick up any wireless signal. But I could and still can connect through ethernet cord. How do I get my laptop to pick up any wireless signal?

Side note: I have unplugged my modem and router for several minutes. Maybe like 15 min or so. Also turned off my laptop then plugged in modem, then router then turned on laptop....nothing still.

I have tried a few other things suggested on here but still nothing.

*I remember seeing on a screen that wireless was not enabled* I did try the "FN+F8" nothing.

I share a supported links, visit and follow instructions.

Wireless light flashes & can't connect

This post is dedicated to describing the process of fixing an orange light on a Belkin router. But, first, it's important to know about the reason for the orange light. The orange light on the brilliantly-designed Belkin router provides an indication that either the particular connection had not been developed or the router is not capable of detecting the Internet. It might be due to the defected router, unplugged modem, and so forth.

Don't know how to lock my linksys router

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I don't have an instructions on how to set this thing up. I know nothing. Please help...

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then click on WAN settings set it as your internet service provider settings enable DHCP Then click on wireless and enable it. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I can't seem to connect to my wireless router, \r\nI don't know what the problem could be really, I went through the setup and it should be working fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Some later model wireless routers have the Password(ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router andthis information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card in yourcomputer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then go to link and follow my instructions. http://www.fixya.com/support/r10267861-network_security_key

I've plugged the modem into the router and the four lights on the left of the router are on, the middle two blinking; however, despite being able to detect the router wirelessly I am not able to gain...

One thing to try is to hard reset the modem and the router. This will work on an unprotected router that won't connect most of the time.
This link is to the data sheet d-link gives for this router. ftp://ftp10.dlink.com/pdfs/products/DIR-655/DIR-655_ds.pdf
This one is to the software and instillation guides they provide. Select your country from the three. Then there is a link to a FAQ below the two download links that will help you find which of the two that you need.
