Sony wega KV-36FS13 standby light blinking 5 times. no pic.

AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. If you wish to get more details about blinking codes to Sony TVs, check this link.

In standby mode (red led on/after the led stops from blinking), press "Display", "5", Volume (-)", "Power on" on the remote control in sequence, self diagnostic screen will be display, let me know the what is on the screen to diagnose where the fault came from.

Standby light on Sony TVs blinks 16 times is abnormal I thiks. It may come up to 8 blinks or so. You jsut switch off the set by AC mains switch at the front panel, switch it again with it and count the exact numbers. Never switch it On_Off by remote hanset.
If it happens even after this process, you just do the following
Press the following button on your remote control as stated
"Display"_"Channel"_"5"_"Vol Minus" [not plus] then "Power".
You may get "OVP" "OCP" "V STOP" etc displayed on the screen.
Just report the result to me through Fixya. Ok.

Please check batteries in remote that seems not working. Sony TV would either turns On or standby light will blinks if TV gets any internal problem.
You question shows standby light stays On that means TV does not receive power on command from remote.
If standby light is blinking in sequence, let me know how many times it is blinking and also intimate exact model number of TV to find out possible solution.

I think, TV screen has white-balance failure thats why TV light blinks 5 times.
While living in Pakistan, I can't fix your TV there. In my point of view, it doesn't cost much and you should contact nearest Sony repair shop.

it is an error code of the sony maybe there is a problem in it.

No picture. Standby light blinks 5 times. Tried unplugging and restarting. Same problem
