Motorola V3 won't sned SMS text messages - says operation failed - did until I took it to france - it roamed onto other networks, now back in UK and everything else still works but cant send texts - can receive them though.

Most likely the blacked out characters are unsupported language.

The provider in Jamaica probably doesn't allow sending text messages to the country where you are at. They can try using web-based SMS service to send you messages. If you need the links to such SMS services, write a country where you are, I'll be more than glad to post those links.

after typing text sms go to option and then go save as a draft or just close windows it will automatic store in draft as a unsent.

go to settings ---> call barring ---> then click on Data calls ----> cancel .

this should enable sms send and recieve.

I m sorry. U lack knowledge regarding about SMS/MMS.
SMS=short messaging. It is only for text messages.
Similarly, MMS=multimedia messaging. It is for sending text with animations or photos, video clips, etc.
U need to have MMS connection in ur mobile to send text with animations.

ok first thing u do is go to the network provider then ask them if your sms is in active.... most of the problem like this is from the network provider....example network provider PTI. VIRIZON .PT&T etc.

hold down the * and # hash key simultaneously then insert the battery while holding them down, then press power ON,
if the phone goes into 'flash' mode u just need to software upgrade it :D

just do a master reset on the phone as well as a master clear
