If it is only when he exhaust fan is on, something is in the fan. Remove the grill and investigate. If it is from the Magnatron fan you will have to remove the front panel.

GE advantium 120 convection Cafe microwave making rythmic sound when plugged in and not running. Is coming from the right side of oven Any ideas what it is and how it can be fixed?

The only cause of clunking I can think of is the turntable motor not engaging the drive spindle of the platter properly. Remove the platter and see if the noise goes away.

LG microwave intermittently runs

I would try troubleshooting the "defrost circuit". The behavior sounds like the microwave is cooking in the defrost mode, where it actively cooks then stops allowing the food to rotate and the heat to spread then actively cooking again.

The GE Spacemaker Microwave Oven model JVM1540 makes a loud fan noise whenyou turn it on. Sounds like the exhast fan but it not?

It sounds like from the description when it is running the noise comes from the magnetron, some microwaves are louder than others, but this could be an early sign the magnetron is going.

this sounds like the magentron may be going. have you had any issues with it not heating? check your warranty book, some mags have a 3-5 year warranty, otherwise it's probably not worth repairing.

The unit turns on but the it's thermal fuse/breaker shuts it off

This can be caused when the internal cooling fan is not running or by a magnetron that is failing.

When I say internal cooling fan, I do not mean the hood vent exhaust fan which you can turn on and off manually.

I'm instead talking about the internal fan which comes on automatically whenever you microwave.

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are operating here.

It is vital that the cooling fan runs, or the magnetron will be destroyed.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
