Hey kulandaivelu,

The problem occurs simply because you don't have the specific driver for your sound card. If you have the installation cd of your sound card, please install it. Otherwise, you specify the model of you sound card. Maybe i could help you on downloading the drivers needed for the the given device.

My pc doen't play a sound

Please check whether the device drivers for your Audio Hardware is installed or not. The process is
Start>Run>devmgmt.msc (type and click ok or press enter)
bb66b20.jpg Now find your audio device and check whether drivers for the same are installed or not...
43fcabd.jpg If the device shows mark of exclamation (!) or interrogation (?) beside it, please install drivers for it.

That means your audio codec driver doesnot meet to the sound driver.

Your installed audio driver is not the right version of ur sound card.

You need to download correct driver by downloading it through internet

Sound Drivers

you have to download the sound drivers and install the software..can't give you the exact driver as haven't specified much about your PC.
still try to download one of the common driver like realtek- Ac97... from the following URL ..
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

or try to download other audio drivers and install it...your problem would be fixed.

hope to get rated as fixed...

Sound device

The reason for the message will be the fact that windows doesnt recognise that there is a sound device available because the driver for your sound card or onboard sound is not built into XP and therefore you will have to find out what make of audio you have and install the relevant driver.
