I have a jvc GR-D280 mini dvd camcorder i can not download through my dv to usb cable xp computer can not find the device
USB connection is only for the still photos on the SD card. If there is no SD card in the slot, it will not load.

Video has to be transferred via the firewire cable.

It will tell you how.
Make sure you use new batteries if yours are over two years old.

I found a Fix for vista with my GR-D850 jvc the Startech.com (3 port IEEE-1394 firewire PCI Card) works on vista when installed the pci card I was able to down lowed to windows movie maker with no problems.
