So try to get the black toner cartridge out of the Machine. On zhe backside of the Cardridge is a gear. Try to turn the gear, maybe the Toner inside is clump together. When you can turn it very easy in both directions it's fine.
On the subject of label printing, i actually get all my labels printed by a british labels company for a really low price. If anyone is at all interested then it may be worth taking a look at their website as they do all types of label printing.
"I have one and have just finished
preliminary testing. I have a CLP-550N and use the network port to
connect the printer to our wired network. Using Bonjour (a.k.a.
Rendezvous) does not work. I can successfully setup the printer, but it
will not print. LPD, however, does work fine. You may need to reinstall
the PPD files from the CD, or download them from there (sic) website." Brad
Scheider reports: "Samsung no longer supports a CLP-500 driver. But
I've found that the CLP-510 Driver works in Tiger and fixes many
problems I had with the CLP-500 driver on Panther. Works great now."
Your printer has an inner setting within the menu that tells it not to pay attention to the computer's commands. The CD that came with the printer contains the users manuals. However, this is not the default setting, so maybe someone pressed the wrong buttons in the right sequence.
