I really do not know how to use it. It's rather awkward to look through the lens. What does the red dot finderscope really do?

Battery type/model for Finderscope Red Dot Starpointer

I also have a Tasco telescope model 49060700 and I could not figure out for the life of me how to replace the battery in the finderscope. After Googling it and then finally getting frustrated and taking it apart I found the battery! Then I found out of course I did need to take it apart! As you can see by the picture on the side of the finderscope you see where it says PUSH. On the other side it says BATTERY. Now when you're looking and feeling of this on the scope you cannot tell that it's not part of the design on the plastic. I'm thinking push what? Well when I tore into its all the location of the battery then I figured it out. I put pressure on where it says push and the little battery compartment started to slide out toward the other side of the scope. I use the little enclosed screwdriver to use pressure to push it on through. I hope this helps anyone who searches for how to replace the battery. Maybe it was obvious to some people but it wasn't obvious to me! It is a lithium CR2032 3 volt battery.

Good morning (in Brazil). I cant find WHERE to place the battery ON red dot finderscope; should it be placed where the plastic insulator is? I cant find a case, or whatever it is.

Most red dot finders use small watch style batteries. Look for something that slides out of the red dot finder and or a port in the side or the bottom.

How do you turn on the red dot finderscope

There is usually a switch on the side-- turn the knob.

There will be 3 knobs the other TWO are to align the red dot.

No audible click from unit, tho a point of small resistance is felt when turning on, and no red dot in finderscope view.

Many of these low cost red dot finder have weak and or defective on-off switches. They break very easily. Best to discard the finder and buy a better one.

Red Dot Finderscope doesn't do anything when turned on

Sometimes there can be a plastc tab to take out so as the battery isn't drained while it's in the factory, store etc. just pop the battery out and check.
