Usually you need to plug the HDMI connection back in, and power everything up. Then using the menu, set the HDMI connection, back, to whatever you wish, often it is efficacious, to have the alternate unit already plugged into the set. It may also pay to reset your TV set, back to defaults.

My tv shuts itself off!

Quite a long "description". "How can I fix it without having to check the back of the TV or going to a repairman?" (I altered the spelling etc a little there.)

Answer: Go to the internet and search for "Magic TV Repair Wand" and let me know if you find one---

It green screens after 10 mins

Hi,
Are you using hdmi cable. If so your hdtv needs to have it's hdmi port reset .First unplug everything even the TV and xbox. Then disconnect everything and unplug every thing from the wall outlets. Then plug the TV back in and hook everything back up. The HDTV even with the power off can have it's hdmi port bumped so you need to unplug it to reset the ports.
Thank you

DVD hooked up to sony bravia tv: have dvd power on, but can not get any set up menus (or anything) from dvd to show on tv screen.Unable to set up remote as menu does not appear on tv screen.

Hook up the player with RGB (Red-Green-Blue or component) cables and try the picture. If everything works OK, then go to the menu and turn on the HDMI output and set the resolution (if needed).
Not every HDMI unit works with every HDMI TV. You may also have a bad HDMI cable. On a DVD recorder, you may have your HDMI cable connected to HDMI IN. You must use HDMI out.

Why does the screen turn green when i hook hdmi cord up

I had the same problem.... Occasionally when I changed stations, the screen went totally green.
What fixed the problem was to NOT use a HDMI cord at all! Instead I got a cord made up of five separate "prong" cords (like we use to hook up the old VCR's with ), all with different color-coded prongs that individually get inserted into the corresponding colored holes in the back of the Cable box and into the TV. I got this special cord from my cable company Comcast.

I just called Vizio and they said to unplug the TV, then physically hold in the power button on the TV for 2 minutes.
