Re: why does battery die so fast
Use till battery is dead, then put a full charge one it, if it has water ports, check to see if at proper level, if still bad, take to have tested, look in phone book(batteries) if it test ok, charger is bad

yes the wires are probable not properly connected to the brush bar motor dyson is not like other vacuums if you reverse the wires the motor does not turn it reverse it simply stop rewire it correctly or take it to guarantee vacuum and sewing center for better comsumption they have a lifetime warenty on them that should cover that all dyson vacuums do
Mine was doing same thing. was working flipped upside down to replace the rubber blades then nothing.Display dark only it has green led around orange button. Unplugging batteries didn't help.pressing buttons nothing. holding buttons down nothing. Found this on another site. Connect the vac to your computer and place it on charger at same time. Press and hold the orange button for about 10 sec. or so. it should turn of the LED then let up and repress button. vac should then reboot. Unplug computer. Wouldn't hurt at this time to tell it you put in "New Batteries" but first remove any scheduled cleaning days to clear its memory. After doing the New battery, reset the schedule and let it charge. After that it maybe a good time to check your program version and update it from the Neato web site to the newest update. The newest update does wonders for the battery run time issues.
Look at the serial #. Disregard the first number. The next two represent the year, the next two the month, and the next two the day. The last three are the daily sequence.
Example: 5021203456, would be the 456th machine finished on Dec. 3, 2002.
hi right to be honest both ways are correct, but if your using it every day then its best to put it back on the charger after every use, but the problem with this is that the battery never goes totally flat, so never does a full recharge this reduces the life of the battery by upto 50% so if you are using it regular and need it charged daily then its best to once a month let the battery go totally flat so that it wont even make a sound then do a full recharge. Doing this will ensure the battery remains at peak performance and make it last longer.
If how ever your only using it say once a week then its best to only charge after the battery has gone flat due to the fact that it would remain on charge longer and cause the battery to over heat reducing the life span of the battery.
But witch ever method you use always let the battery go totally flat once a month then do full recharge this will prolong the life of the battery and ensure it keeps working at full power.
They make the worst machines, the rollers are cheap and they make it so you cant take them apart to clean them. You don't want a dyson either, they aren't any better for pets. With all that hardwood floors you should get a good canister vacuum, sebo and miele are the best.
All of the hoover cleaners use air to spin the brushes the air intake is probably clogged. There is a Little clear window on the top of the machine pull that off and underneath is a little screen clean that out and that should fix your problem.
