How do I get the free digital channels on my tv?

One way you can get free high quality digital channels is an HD antenna. In recent years, the government stopped broadcasting analog (non-HD) signals, and instead pumped out HD. They advertised their "converter box", that made it possible for people receiving their TV channels from antenna, to get HD.
If you currently have an antenna that you prefer to use, you can buy a converter box here.
But, the solution that in the end will get you more channels is a new HD antenna. They range from extremely powerful roof antenna's, to average tabletop antenna's. A roof antenna has more distance, but can be more hard to set up compared to the tabletop ones.
You can buy a variety of tabletop ones Here
Or, you can choose outdoor Here
You can learn to set it up Here
If your TV doesn't have HD capabilities ("HDTV") than you will need a converter box, which can buy at the link above ( or here.).
Hope this helped!

How do I set up my tv, for auto scan I thought I needed a digital converter, I just learned that I do not. Do I need an antenna of any kind at all. I am very confused. I really would like to talk with...

If you are trying to program free HD off air you will need a UHHF antenna attached to the ATSC hook up on back of TV then have TV scan for channels available. If you are hooking up a "cable" box or satellite receiver that will just get hooked up with the output of the box going to an appropriate input on your TV. If you are just taking a cable from wall (being used as an antenna) then hook that up to the QAM antenna connection on tv and scan for channels once that is hooked up.

Hope this helps - if not please be more specific on what you are trying to hook up to what input.

The tv says no signal new out of box

It's kind of hard to answer your question with not knowing how your hooking up your TV. If you are hooking up a antenna or cable to your RF in you need to make sure you have your input set to TV and autoprogram your channels. If your using a cable box hooked to your RF in then you need make sure it is on and autoprogram your channels. If you are using a cable box, satellite receiver, or DVD player hooked up to your component, composite, or HDMI.input then you need to make sure you have you input set for that. Hope that helps.

HDTV unable to get HD Channels w/ Antenna

The problem could be your antenna. Many people will buy small indoor tv antennas and wonder why they're not getting the signal that they want or the channels that they expect. Its not your fault. Digital signal is in two formats: UHF AND VHF. Some antennas only receive UHF. But many of the low band channels are VHF, so 1) you need an antenna that will receive those signals and 2) you need to know how and where to install that antenna and 3) you need to know if you need a signal amplifier depending on your coaxial cable length and number of connections. I recommend visiting dennys antenna service (no I don't work there and I have never purchased anything from that website. He just has an excellent informational article with a great deal of "how to" on his pages.). http://www.dennysantennaservice.com/2029710.html This should be of great help to you. Happy viewing =)

Just bought lg 24o mhz tv picture looks like ****!!!! what do we do?

  1. What kind of signal are you putting into it. If your not putting a HD signal into set your going to have a crappy pix. Try hooking a pair of rabbit ears into it and see how the pix looks. Might have to autoprogram the set and put the tv in antenna mode Keep me posted

How to see local channels in HD with a traditional antenna?

If your set does not have an ATSC tuner, for HD, then you need to be using a suitably equipped STB.

Your satellite STB - box - should take in OTA channels and display them as part of its normal operation, tho. It takes in the antenna signal from your roof antenna and displays the HD version of your OTA channels, if it is an HD STB, along with the HD channels it gets from the satellite overhead.
