The input signal is missing and the blue screen background comes on the screen. Change the input to some other device which you are sure works and see.

When we turn tv on we have white screen with sound for a while then it has color bars and after about 4 min. have picture. Westinghouse sk 26h520s

It may have bad T-CON board or the bad DC feeding it. You need to check the DC voltage feeding it.

How do you take the subtitles off?

Hello nick... turn on the tv, then you need to use your remote and press the menu button. under the audio options, you will have the CC [close captioned] options. just turn off. It is the closed caption function that inserted the subtitles in the first place. Joe

Turn set on picture for a few seconds then it

Check to see if you are getting 12vdc feeding the T-CON board. the gray glowing means the backlight is working.

TV will not turn ON

You need th check th epower supply module, that will be the first place to look, look for bad solder joints, bad leaking/bulging caps.

Westinghouse SK-26H520S turns on but wont go past start-up screen

Hello, two things, one if the unit gets stuck there meaning that the W stays there and it shows that on the screen thank your main board is stuck on the boot mode and you will need to replace. The second is if the W goes away than you need to see if you can plug something in and change the input mode (even if you can't see anything on the screen) so that you can see if there is any sound coming in to the unit.
