My DVD Player ( ONIDA DFX-7100) is now unable to play any VCDs. I havetried many VCDs which were earlier working fine but now they won'tplay. The player keeps displaying the ''loading'' message and after acouple of minutes I get a message - ''No disc''. The compatibility listof the player shows - DVD, DVD+/-RW, DVD+/- R, CD, Picture CDcompatibile CD-R, CD-RW capable.
I am able to play DVD without any issues.
Any idea what could be the reason for this sudden problem when earlier it was able to play CDs/VCD

Yes, according to Samsug's website the unit is supposed to support VCDs. I have seen mixed results when working with VCDs. I don't really have a solution, rather some suggestions on what to check (some may be obvious)... 1) try different VCDs in the player to make sure it is not just tone disc. 2) Again from mixed results, some suggest trying different types of disc CD-R vs. CD+R. 3) Sometimes copies of VCDs may be an issue - try the original. 4) getting a little technical here... make sure you have the latest firmware for the player. You can get upgrade instructions and troubleshooting help at Samsung.
Hope this helps. I know it can be frustrating at times.
