I am running a Panasonic DVD (DV 606D). I just inherited the system. The TV is a RCA Home Theatre Guide Plus Gold Gemstar Premiere. When I run a DVD I have sound but no picture. The sound is going through a Pioneer tuner (VSX D9065) and its three cables are sent to a digital cable TV box. I currently have no cable or satellite and only want watch DVD's with the home theatre sound system. Thanks for you ideas. I am an electronic newbee. Barry
Thank you for the quick response. Just double checked the system. The 3 cords from the DVD are connected to the television. I would feel so dumb if I pay to bring someone in and it is a small item I have overlooked.

Thanks again. I had the cableguy in for my tv and had him check all connections and apparently all is well. We now get a picture when the DVD is turned on but can not get beyond the menu section of the DVD. Still have sound. Can not find the remote so tried to do a manual play....nothing. Perhaps this DVD player(Pioneer DV606D)only works with a remote? The journey continues.... Apprecaite your help

If it is connected to the proper video in of the TV just switch the TV to the proper video input and you should be good.If it is connected to the proper video in of the TV just switch the TV to the proper video input and you should be good.

This may be bigger than Ben Hur. It sound lik ethe TV got spiked before the fuse could save it from damage It may ber an insurance claim for the repair
There must be a fault in the screening of the internal wiring to the scart outlet in the home theatre system. I simply changed the way the player was connected to the TV and the interference disappeared:-
1.) I used the RCA video outlet instead of the scart lead. Picture quality was not compromised. FYI the Panasonic Plasma TV I have has only RGB video input sockets at the back, so I used a scart to RCA adaptor to overcome this problem of connecting old technology to new.
2.) The surround sound when playing DVDs is generated directly from the home theatre system so there was no need to connect the audio from the home theatre system to the TV
3.) I used a pair of RCA leads to connect the "audio out" from the TV to the "audio in"on the home theatre system to provide the option of TV sound through the home theatre system.
Thank you for the quick response. Just double checked the system. The 3 cords from the DVD are connected to the television. I would feel so dumb if I pay to bring someone in and it is a small item I have overlooked.
