the body of text of the test page is black ink. From what you describe, the print heads are clogged. Most HPs use cartridges that have the head built in, but if not used for an externded period they can dry up and clog.
Try repeated head cleanings (10 or more) see if any change. If none, try new HP ink cartridges
eack software have diferent wais to talk with the printer,
or send the comands to the printer (zpl files) and like this, he can send the printer configuration direcly, or can use setings from the driver.
if you go to Printer and Fax, right click on the printer driver, go to "properties" and print the test-page.
If print text plus the windows logo, that meens the printer is comunicate, now the rest is with the each software.
you might have printer set to print in black ink only check in settings if not re install printer driver then print test page if the windows logo comes out in colour and the text black everything is fine
I'd certainly be swapping the fuser first although I know how expensive they can be and what a pain they can be to get at. You've tried everything else I would start with and as the text is smudging I'd certainly be testing the fuser next. Scott.
Kindly look on the print preview then if the text is appear and when u print out is only the logo like what u said.maybe u need to go printer properties then right click it u can see there the print testing color management Aline cartridge and many try to check the ink if is not empty.after reviewing what i said try again to print.
microsoft logo is in colour and so its printing while everything else on test page is black so its not printing.
the problem is common.you need to do automatic deep cleaning for the ink flow to start once you install new cartridges.go to printer maintanance option and click the option deep cleaning .it will pull out the ink in printer head and it will start working.sometimes also requires cleaning twice.

Assuming the print tests you've done so far are built into the printer: Could be worth printing a test page from the printer properties box (which you can get in XP from the START menu, Settings, Printers & Faxes, then Right click on the printer you want and select Properties from the dropdown.
If the test page is OK, I'd try printing from a few different applications to see if that narrows the problem down.
If the test page has the same problem, then you might try reinstalling the printer driver.
