I have self-cleaned my oven, but it is flashing "F2" and "locked door." I assume the "F" message is an error message. We are renting this house and have no owner's manual, so could you please let me know how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi, This code indicates that the oven overheated. If the door does not unlock after it cools down it would be a symptom that the thermistor that senses the oven temperature has failed. I would recommend a service company come out and check to make sure there is nothing that could have caused it to overheat prior to just replacing the sensor.

The clock on my wall whirlpool oven flashes a error code of F2 and beeps on and off?

F2-- Oven temperature is too high

1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).
2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation.
3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature.
