Question about iLO LCT32HA36 Television
I have an ilo tv model number LCT32HA36. The tv will not turn on the red power button blinks and won't turn green when the power button is pressed. Now when I plug the tv into the wall the red standby light does not light up. Does this mean that the power supply is shot? Could it be fixed by replacing the bad caps?

It could be the power or main board that is giving issues...if your able pull the back off and look for a pin on connector marked PSON or PON...that is line that tells the power board to come out of sleeping and go to work, you should see a change in the voltage when the on button is pushed, if you do then the main is doing its work and its the main if you don't see a voltage change then chances are its the power board

It looks like the power supply failed on your TV. If the LED is solid red or green, it could be some leaky or dry capacitors but if the LED is blinking, the failure is more complicated to repair.
I service these power supplies. If you need more info you can send me an email to [email protected]

You can probably fix it yourself. If your board failed the same way mine and seemingly almost everyone else did, its actually a very simple fix.
Up where all the cables plug into the board are 3 capacitors, running perpendicular to the inputs. They are the 3 BETWEEN the two black heat sinks. Those 3 have a habit of over heating and going bad. its easy to tell... the tops should be slightly bulging outward and you may even see specs of brown on top. If that's the case, you've got it easy. Go to Radio Shack and buy 3, 35v 1000uF capacitors, item # 272-1032. They're $1.59 ea. Use a soldering iron to take out the old capacitors, fit the new ones in, and replace the board into the TV. The new ones are a bit larger, but fit just fine. I suggest setting all 3 in BEFORE soldering them in, just so you can be sure they are in good position.
I bought all three capacitors, solder, and an iron kit for $35, about $150 cheaper than a new board. Its a 10min job and well worth the effort.
